Rewriting My Money Story
A Conscious Shift into Abundance
I used to believe that struggle was noble. That working harder, giving more, and expecting less somehow made me worthy of stability. I wore scarcity like a second skin, passed down through generations, reinforced by systems, trauma, and silence. My nervous system was wired for survival, not prosperity. And it showed—in my bank account, in my body, in my boundaries.
I got tired. Tired of pretending I was okay. Tired of financial chaos being my normal. Tired of shrinking when I deserved to expand.
When I got tired, it wasn’t an overnight process. It was a buildup—pressure from external shifts, emotional friction, and life-changing events I couldn’t ignore anymore. Over the last 11 years, two experiences cracked me wide open. One was the process of my job promotion and the other was the unraveling of my marriage. That season forced me to see myself differently. I had to question what I believed I deserved, how I was treated, and how I had been moving in survival.
My divorce wasn’t just the end of a relationship. It was the beginning of a new phase. Financial autonomy. Emotional clarity. A mindset that finally centered me. The promotion wasn’t just a title—it was a mirror that showed me how much I had been underestimating my own value. Those experiences didn’t just inspire this shift. They required it.
That’s when I decided my money story wasn’t mine to carry anymore. It was mine to rewrite.
This is how I made the shift. Not overnight. Not through toxic positivity. Through intention, embodiment, and truth.
I realized money is not the villain
Money holds memory. Of past disappointments. Of powerlessness. Of shame. If your body tenses when you think about it, that’s not random. That’s unprocessed experience. I stopped trying to fix the money and started listening to the part of me that felt unsafe receiving it.
That shift alone softened everything. I began noticing how I spoke about money in daily conversation. I caught the jokes, the tension, the avoidance. I realized how often I braced for financial loss, even in moments of stability. My nervous system had learned to flinch first. I started telling a new truth. I am safe with money. I am safe to receive. I am safe to thrive.
I learned my worth isn’t proven by productivity
You don’t have to earn your right to rest. You don’t have to bleed for a paycheck. You don’t have to hustle for love through unpaid labor. Once I saw how my people-pleasing and undercharging were connected, I made a new vow to myself. I choose ease where I was taught to endure.
There was grief in this. Letting go of struggle meant grieving the identity I built around it. I chose to stop romanticizing the grind and start honoring what my energy is truly here for. I made new rules—ones that protect my peace and preserve my gifts. I stopped calling burnout noble. I called it what it was. Depletion dressed up as duty.
I continue creating space to receive and to evolve
My relationship with money keeps changing because I keep changing. I now understand that saving isn’t about fear—it’s an act of care. That I’m safe to invest in myself and in the things that bring me joy. That I can make purchases because I want to, not because I have to justify them. I give freely to causes I believe in. I bless others when I feel led to, not from obligation, but from overflow.
I visualize my financial cup always full. No leaks. No scarcity. My accounts stay in the black. Money moves to me constantly through my work, my ideas, my presence, my service. I am abundantly paid for what I bring to this world. And I know how to communicate the value of it—not with force, not with fluff, but with clarity and resonance.
When I speak, it lands. When I offer, it transforms. I trust the timing of what I put into the world. I don’t need to push. I don’t need to chase. I just need to stay in alignment with my truth. And when I do, abundance is the natural result.
The deeper my values align with how I earn, give, and spend, the more natural abundance becomes. When I honor what I care about—freedom, integrity, creativity—I don’t have to force anything. I create and attract opportunities that mirror those values. I’m not chasing a dollar. I’m building a life.
The more I root into what I love, the more flow I experience. When I create from passion, money meets me there. When I serve from clarity, I receive in clarity. This alignment isn’t just spiritual—it’s strategic. It’s how I move from hustle to harmony, from scarcity to sustainable success. I don’t have to compromise who I am to be abundant. I get to amplify it.
I shifted from fear-based transactions to aligned exchange
I started pricing my services based on value, not fear. I stopped overexplaining. I upgraded my language. I created systems that reflect the version of me who already trusts herself with money. My mindset, yes—but also my body, my schedule, my community. Everything changed.
I now look at my finances as a living reflection of how I treat myself. If things feel tight, I pause. Not to panic, but to listen. When things overflow, I celebrate—without guilt. I release the fear of too much and the anxiety of not enough. I live in the frequency of sufficiency. I am nourished, resourced, and well supported.
And I’m still evolving. Because money work isn’t just about numbers. It’s about identity. Every layer I shed brings me closer to my truth. I am not here to survive. I am here to thrive and overflow with integrity.
